
Dr. Karen Soffe
Dr Karen Soffe has been working in general practice in The Ashe Street Clinic in Tralee Co Kerry, for over 20 years. She graduated from UCD in 1998 and completed her basic surgical training and worked as an Orthopaedic Surgery registrar before moving to Tralee in 2001. She has maintained a special interest in Orthopaedic conditions and provides a joint injection service.
She also has a special interest in women’s health, with a Diploma of Women’s Health from the ICGP and is now a guest lecturer for their Community Gynaecology Course. She provides a fully comprehensive contraceptive service privately and through the Free Contraception Scheme.
She is a British Menopause Society Accredited Advanced Menopause Specialist. She has worked as one of the Clinical leads setting up the new Complex Menopause Service at Cork University Maternity Hospital providing expert menopause care for those with complex needs and is a founding Board Member of the Menopause Society of Ireland.
Dr Soffe is the GP lead for the Tralee Dingle area, liaising with the HSE to plan, enhance and develop Primary Care Services in the area.
Dr Soffe is passionate about training the next generation of GP’s and is a trainer on the South West Training Scheme as well as being a BMS Menopause trainer and LARC Tutor.
